Canpac Acquires Krishna Creation to Strengthen Premium Packaging Business in India

Canpac has acquired Krishna Creation, an Ahmedabad-based specialist in folding cartons and rigid box packaging, strengthening its presence in India’s premium packaging market.

Krishna Creation is recognized for its craftsmanship, precision finishing, and design expertise, serving leading brands such as Welspun, Renee Cosmetics, Indocount, Damson, and Trident with premium packaging solutions that combine functionality with high-end aesthetics.

As part of the transaction, Canpac and Krishna Creation will jointly establish a new greenfield manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad. The new plant will become Canpac’s third facility in Ahmedabad and its tenth manufacturing unit across India, further expanding the company’s production capacity.

Scheduled to begin operations in September 2026, the facility will house a KBA 106 seven-color coater with UV, a Komori six-color UV press, and a complete suite of post-press equipment for manufacturing rigid paper packaging, folding cartons, and gift bags.

According to the company, the acquisition strengthens Canpac’s position in the specialty, gift, and premium packaging segments, where superior design and finishing are key differentiators. The expansion also marks another milestone in Canpac’s 15-year journey, during which it has grown from a single manufacturing plant into a diversified paper packaging platform serving India’s fast-growing consumer markets.

The deal represents Canpac’s fifth acquisition, reflecting its strategy of balancing inorganic growth with organic expansion. Over the past 15 years, the company has achieved a 25% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) while building one of India’s leading diversified paper packaging platforms.

Sagar Makhija, M&A Head at Canpac Trends, said the partnership combines Canpac’s operational scale with Krishna Creation’s design and finishing expertise, reinforcing the company’s presence in India’s premium and luxury packaging segment.

Both companies will now work together to expand the business by combining Canpac’s manufacturing scale and process discipline with Krishna Creation’s boutique craftsmanship to better serve customers in the premium packaging market.

Headquartered in Ahmedabad, Canpac Trends operates across multiple paper packaging segments, including folding cartons, paper bags, labels and holograms, corrugated packaging, and flexible packaging, serving leading FMCG, textile, and consumer brands through its expanding manufacturing network across India.
