Bharat Packaging Expo 2027 to Bring Global Packaging Ecosystem to India
The road to Bharat Packaging Expo 2027 officially began with a curtain raiser event held on 19 June 2026 at the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) in Delhi, bringing together industry leaders, brand owners, technology providers and packaging professionals to discuss the future of the sector.
Organised jointly by the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) and India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), with support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) and the Asian Packaging Federation (APF), the event highlighted the theme, “From Compliance Pressure to Intelligent Packaging Transformation.”
Scheduled to take place from 30 August to 2 September 2027 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Bharat Packaging Expo 2027 aims to serve as a key platform for advancing sustainable, digital and globally competitive packaging solutions.
Addressing participants, Dr. Tanweer Alam, Additional Director and Regional Officer, IIP Delhi, described the upcoming exhibition as a transformative platform that will unite stakeholders across the packaging value chain to drive innovation and strengthen India’s global standing in the packaging industry.
Industry leaders emphasized that packaging is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by evolving regulations, sustainability requirements and growing demand for recyclable and resource-efficient solutions. Speakers highlighted the importance of innovation, digitalisation, traceability and collaboration in building a resilient packaging ecosystem capable of meeting future market demands.
Representatives from leading consumer brands and packaging solution providers noted that businesses are increasingly focused on balancing sustainability goals with product safety, regulatory compliance and consumer expectations. They also underscored the growing role of intelligent packaging, data-driven decision-making and enhanced user experiences in shaping future packaging strategies.
The event further highlighted Bharat Packaging Expo 2027’s buyer-centric approach, which will facilitate structured matchmaking, pre-scheduled buyer-seller meetings and business networking opportunities designed to maximize value for exhibitors and visitors alike.
Positioned as India’s Gateway to the Global Packaging Ecosystem, the exhibition is expected to feature more than 500 exhibitors, attract over 30,000 business visitors and welcome participants from more than 60 countries across 25,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The expo will showcase the entire packaging value chain, including packaging materials, machinery and automation, food and pharmaceutical packaging, printing and labelling technologies, sustainable packaging solutions, logistics and warehousing systems, and smart packaging innovations.
Industry stakeholders believe the event will play a significant role in fostering collaboration, accelerating innovation and strengthening India’s position as a global packaging hub.
