Grembox Invests €26 Million in New Corrugated Packaging Facility

Polish packaging manufacturer Grembox has officially commenced construction of a new corrugated board packaging plant in Bytom, southern Poland, marking a major expansion of its production capabilities.

The company is investing more than PLN110 million (approximately €26 million) in the facility, which will be located within the Katowice Special Economic Zone (KSSE). The project is designed to support Grembox’s growing e-commerce operations and strengthen its position in Poland’s packaging market.

The new facility will be built on a 4.6-hectare site and will feature an 11,000-square-meter production and warehouse building, along with office and employee facilities. According to Grembox CEO Mateusz Bochenek, construction is expected to be completed next year, with commissioning planned by the end of 2027.

The plant will focus on manufacturing corrugated board packaging using purchased corrugated board, as the company currently has no plans to install its own corrugator. Once operational, the facility is expected to produce between 40 million and 50 million square meters of corrugated packaging annually and create approximately 70 to 80 new jobs.

Grembox stated that the investment is primarily aimed at supporting its e-commerce business, with the company claiming to operate the largest online packaging store in Poland. The expansion is intended to meet increasing demand from online retail customers and improve distribution efficiency.

The project also receives financial support through the European Union’s FENG programme. Grembox acquired the Bytom site in 2024 and initially outlined a two-phase development plan. The first phase focuses on establishing the packaging production facility, while the second phase will expand warehousing capacity and integrate manufacturing and e-commerce operations into a single logistics hub.

Once completed, the Bytom site is expected to become one of Poland’s largest packaging centres serving the e-commerce sector.

Headquartered in Ruda Śląska, Grembox is a family-owned packaging company supplying customers across Poland, including businesses in the e-commerce, food, cosmetics, manufacturing, construction, and household chemicals industries.
