HZ Green Pulp and Hotpack Global Partner to Expand Dry Molded Fibre Foodservice Packaging

Malaysia-based HZ Green Pulp, the first Malaysian licensee of PulPac’s dry molded fibre technology, has entered into a strategic partnership with Hotpack Global to accelerate the adoption of sustainable fibre-based foodservice packaging.

The collaboration combines HZ Green Pulp’s advanced dry molded fibre manufacturing capabilities with Hotpack Global’s extensive distribution network and strong presence across more than 100 international markets. The partnership is expected to strengthen the availability of fibre-based packaging solutions for foodservice customers worldwide.

As part of the agreement, HZ Green Pulp will initially manufacture dry molded fibre coffee lids, with plans to expand into complementary foodservice products such as paper cups. The companies also intend to explore additional product innovations as HZ Green Pulp broadens its portfolio.

Dato’ Dr. Donald Yap, CEO of HZ Green Pulp, said the partnership aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of delivering practical, fibre-based packaging alternatives. He noted that Hotpack’s global reach and customer network will help bring sustainable packaging solutions to a wider market while supporting the transition away from conventional materials.

PulPac’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sanna Fager, described the partnership as another important step in expanding the adoption of dry molded fibre technology. She highlighted that combining dry molded fibre products with complementary foodservice packaging can simplify the shift to fibre-based solutions for customers and demonstrate growing industry confidence in the technology.

PulPac’s patented dry molded fibre process is designed to produce high-performance fibre packaging using minimal water and significantly lower energy than conventional paper moulding methods, enabling more resource-efficient production at industrial scale.
