DF Inks Launches New Digital Platform for Flexible Packaging Industry
DF Inks, the flexible packaging inks division of the DRUCKFARBEN Group, has launched a newly redesigned website aimed at converters, brand owners, and packaging industry professionals. The platform is built to provide streamlined access to technical knowledge, product information, and sustainability-focused resources, offering a more modern and industry-centric user experience.
According to A. G. Karavasilis, Managing Director of DRUCKFARBEN Group, the new platform has been developed in response to the growing need for reliable technical support and information in an evolving packaging landscape. “As packaging requirements continue to evolve, access to reliable information and technical support becomes increasingly important. The new website has been designed as a resource, bringing together product knowledge, sustainability insights and practical tools in one place,” he said.
The website is structured around DF Inks’ core product portfolio and technical capabilities, providing detailed information on solvent-based and water-based ink systems, PU Ultima and PUX technologies, UV Ultracure inks, as well as primers, overprint varnishes, barrier coatings, and heat seal lacquers. It also covers industry-specific packaging applications along with updates on regulatory and sustainability developments.
A dedicated sustainability section highlights DRUCKFARBEN Group’s commitment to developing solutions that support recyclability, circular packaging design, and compliance with evolving European regulations, including the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
In addition to product and sustainability information, the platform introduces a Troubleshooting Center designed to assist converters with common printing and converting challenges. The section offers practical guidance on issues such as print defects, color consistency, adhesion, blocking, drying behavior, and process optimization, with the goal of improving efficiency and reducing operational waste.
One of the standout features of the new website is the Ink Consumption Calculator, developed for flexographic and rotogravure converters. The tool allows users to estimate theoretical ink usage based on key production parameters such as transfer rate, anilox or gravure cylinder specifications, ink coverage, ink density, and ink-to-solvent ratios.
The website also provides access to the broader DRUCKFARBEN Group ecosystem, linking to its other business divisions, KRAFT Paints and BIOCLIMA, enabling users to explore the Group’s wider portfolio from a single platform.
