CERM Launches Cloud-Based O2 MIS for Label and Packaging Converters
CERM has launched O2, a new cloud-based Management Information System (MIS) designed for label, flexible packaging and folding carton converters. The platform will make its official debut at LOUPE Americas 2026, taking place September 15–17 in Rosemont, Illinois.
O2 marks a new generation of MIS technology for CERM, combining a cloud-native architecture, automation, API-first integration and a simplified user experience. The platform is designed for today’s production environments, where converters are managing shorter runs, increasingly complex jobs, higher levels of automation and growing demands for connected production systems.
The new MIS builds on more than 40 years of CERM’s experience in the label and packaging industry and the company’s CERM7 platform, which is used by more than 500 companies worldwide. CERM’s 2025 acquisition of OMIKAI also contributed cloud-development expertise and technology to the development of O2.
According to CERM CEO Jan Heyse, the new platform combines the company’s established knowledge of label and packaging workflows with a modern cloud-based technology stack. The approach is intended to reduce customers’ IT infrastructure and security responsibilities while providing access to industry-specific workflow capabilities.
A key focus of O2 is automation and integration. The platform will follow an API-first approach and build on CERM’s existing technology ecosystem, including partnerships with Esko, HYBRID Software, ABG and SCREEN.
CERM is taking a phased approach to the platform rather than attempting to replicate the complete functionality of CERM7 from the outset. The initial release is primarily aimed at small and midsize label converters looking to increase digitalization and automation without the complexity of implementing a larger enterprise MIS.
The company plans to expand O2’s capabilities progressively as the platform develops. A subsequent phase will introduce functionality specifically designed for flexible packaging and folding carton production, enabling the system to address more complex manufacturing environments.
At LOUPE Americas, CERM will also demonstrate several other technologies alongside O2, including Lexis AI, an AI agent that converts customer emails and attachments into validated CERM sales orders. The company will additionally showcase Smart BI Enterprise, CERM Tempo scheduling, and enhanced quality management and traceability capabilities.
With O2, CERM is positioning its next-generation MIS platform around cloud technology, automation and scalable digital workflows, while maintaining its focus on the specialized requirements of the label and packaging sector.
