HERMA launches Linerless Plus 400 for stronger adhesion in logistics labeling
HERMA has introduced Linerless Plus 400, a new silicone-coated linerless label material engineered to deliver stronger adhesion for demanding applications such as logistics and dispatch labeling on rough cardboard surfaces.
The new material features HERMA’s multi-layer 62Dps pressure-sensitive adhesive, developed to address one of the key limitations of conventional linerless labels. Traditional linerless materials often require adhesive-free zones to prevent adhesive bleed and contamination of cutting mechanisms during converting and printing. HERMA’s two-layer adhesive structure prevents adhesive bleed, enabling full-surface adhesive coating without the need for adhesive-free areas.
According to the company, this design provides higher initial tack and final adhesion while maintaining reliable performance even at low temperatures. Eliminating adhesive-free zones also offers greater flexibility in label design, removes the need to predefine adhesive areas during roll production, and helps reduce contamination of cutting mechanisms, extending cleaning intervals for linerless printers.
HERMA said Linerless Plus 400 is compatible with all standard linerless label printers, allowing users to adopt the material without investing in additional equipment.
The company added that the 62Dps adhesive has already been used commercially for many years across its conventional label materials, providing converters and end users with a proven performance record and minimizing the need for extensive new adhesion testing.
The launch builds on HERMA’s earlier introduction of its InNo-Liner silicone-free solution and is intended for applications where conventional hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive linerless materials do not deliver sufficient performance. The company also noted that growing regulatory emphasis on waste reduction and resource efficiency under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is expected to accelerate the adoption of linerless labeling solutions.
Linerless Plus 400 is available in a 1,000 mm web width with a minimum order quantity of 2,000 square metres.
