Boxmaker.Pro Launches Compact Side-Seam Gluer for Short-Run Corrugated Box Production
Wiltshire, UK: Boxmaker.Pro has introduced the SSG1600, a compact side-seam gluer designed to improve efficiency and consistency in short-run corrugated box production. The new machine is aimed at packaging manufacturers, box makers, and sheet plants seeking to automate small-volume jobs without occupying their primary folder-gluer.
The SSG1600 is specifically developed for straight-line side-seam applications, making it suitable for short production runs, sample boxes, rework, special orders, overflow jobs, and other applications where a precise and consistent glue line is required.
According to Simon Needham of Boxmaker.Pro, many manufacturers continue to rely on manual gluing for smaller and more complex jobs, creating inefficiencies in production.
“There are still a lot of awkward short-run and hand-glued jobs in the market. The SSG1600 gives box makers a simple, affordable way to handle those jobs more consistently without overcomplicating the process,” Needham said.
The machine also offers optional taping heads for value-added applications such as tear tape and peel-and-seal solutions, providing greater flexibility for different packaging requirements.
Customers can evaluate the SSG1600 at Boxmaker.Pro’s demonstration facility in Wiltshire, UK, where they can submit sample blanks, drawings, photographs, or box dimensions for suitability assessments. Live demonstrations are available both in person and via video.
The launch reflects the growing demand for compact, cost-effective automation solutions that improve productivity while reducing manual labour in corrugated packaging production.
