Florette France Replaces PET Bottles with Elopak Cartons for Soup Range
Florette France has transitioned its vegetable soup range from PET bottles to Elopak’s 1-litre Pure-Pak Sense cartons, marking a move aimed at reducing plastic use and improving the sustainability of its packaging.
According to the company, the new carton format offers a larger printable surface, helping improve product visibility on retail shelves. The foldable design also provides practical handling benefits while supporting efforts to minimize food waste.
The packaging change forms part of Florette France’s broader sustainability strategy, which includes a target to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 35% between 2019 and 2035. The company said it continues to focus on developing packaging solutions that maintain the freshness and quality of its fruit and vegetable products while lowering environmental impact.
Compared with the previous PET bottles, the square-shaped cartons improve transport and storage efficiency by making better use of available space, helping reduce logistics costs and fuel consumption. The cartons also protect the soup from light exposure, helping preserve product quality.
The new packaging has been rolled out nationwide across Florette France’s soup portfolio, including Garden Vegetables Soup, Six Vegetables Soup, Red Kuri Squash & Emmental Soup, Green Vegetable Soup, and Pumpkin & Carrot Soup.
The announcement follows several recent sustainability initiatives by Elopak, including the introduction of low-carbon aluminium in liquid packaging cartons manufactured at its facilities in the Netherlands, Denmark and Ukraine. The company has also supplied D-Pak refill cartons for Orkla Home & Personal Care’s Klar laundry products across the Nordic region and Jif-branded all-purpose cleaner in Norway.
The move reflects a broader trend in the food packaging industry, where soup manufacturers are increasingly adopting paper-based aseptic carton solutions in response to growing consumer demand for convenient, shelf-stable and more sustainable packaging.
