Sri Lanka Print Expo 2026 and National Print Excellence Awards to Drive Industry Innovation and Sustainability

Sri Lanka’s printing and packaging industry is set to take center stage as the Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP) hosts the Sri Lanka Print Expo 2026 and the National Print Excellence Awards 2026 this week.

The Sri Lanka Print Expo 2026, the country’s largest trade exhibition dedicated to printing, packaging, labeling, signage, and graphic communications, will be held from June 19 to 21 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo.

Organized under the theme “Driving Innovation and Sustainability for a Print Future,” the exhibition will bring together industry leaders, technology providers, manufacturers, exporters, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to explore the latest developments shaping the sector.

SLAP President Eng. Janaka Rathnakumara highlighted that rapid advancements in automation, artificial intelligence, digital printing, smart manufacturing, and sustainable production are transforming the global printing and packaging landscape. The expo will showcase cutting-edge technologies through live demonstrations, technical sessions, product launches, and networking opportunities.

The event is expected to attract participation from diverse industries including apparel, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, education, and SMEs seeking advanced production and packaging solutions.

Alongside the exhibition, the National Print Excellence Awards 2026 will be held on June 20 at Cinnamon Life, Colombo. The awards have received record entries this year and will recognize outstanding achievements across categories such as offset, digital, flexographic, gravure, and screen printing, as well as packaging, labels, sustainability, innovation, and special industry accomplishments.

SLAP also reiterated its commitment to strengthening Sri Lanka’s printing ecosystem between 2025 and 2030 by supporting MSME printers through technical training, district-level seminars, industry networking, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Ministry of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Secretary Thilaka Jayasundara, while international delegates from India and other global printing organizations are expected to participate.

Industry leaders believe the exhibition and awards program will play a key role in building a smarter, greener, and globally competitive printing and packaging sector for Sri Lanka.
