Stahl Expands Packaging Coatings Presence in Brazil with Strategic Acquisition
Stahl has entered into an agreement to acquire the graphics coatings business of Weilburger Coatings in Brazil, reinforcing its packaging coatings portfolio and strengthening its footprint in the Latin American market.
The acquisition aligns with Stahl’s ongoing regional growth strategy and follows its recent expansion efforts in Europe. By integrating Weilburger’s graphics coatings business, Stahl aims to enhance its capabilities in key packaging segments, including food, beverage, and consumer goods.
Brazil continues to emerge as a high-growth market for packaging coatings, driven by rising urbanization, population growth, and increased demand for packaged consumer products. Through this acquisition, Stahl will leverage Weilburger’s established customer relationships and technical expertise to accelerate its market presence in the region.

As part of the integration process, Stahl plans to gradually transition production of the acquired portfolio to its existing manufacturing facility in Brazil by 2026. The company has already made investments to expand local production capacity, supporting both its current product range and the newly acquired technologies.
The move reflects a broader industry trend of coating suppliers strengthening regional manufacturing and service capabilities to better support converters and brand owners with localized, high-performance solutions.
The transaction is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks, subject to regulatory approvals.
