VPK Group Expands UK Packaging Operations with Acquisition of Manor Packaging

Belgium-based VPK Group has strengthened its presence in the United Kingdom’s corrugated packaging market through the acquisition of Fencor Packaging Group, the parent company of Manor Packaging. The move follows VPK’s earlier investment in the company, having acquired a 28% minority stake in 2024.

Headquartered in Cambridgeshire, Manor Packaging specializes in corrugated cardboard packaging solutions and serves customers across a range of industries, including retail, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, and e-commerce. The company operates a modern manufacturing facility supported by warehousing and logistics capabilities, enabling efficient distribution throughout the UK.

The acquisition further enhances VPK Group’s strategic position in the European packaging sector. VPK is a leading producer of recycled paper, corrugated board, and sustainable packaging solutions, operating numerous manufacturing sites across multiple countries.

Despite the ownership change, Manor Packaging will continue to operate independently, maintaining its established customer relationships and market presence. The company also collaborates closely with Corrboard UK, a corrugated board manufacturer in which VPK holds a majority stake.

Commenting on the acquisition, Martin Taylor, Managing Director of VPK UK & Ireland, highlighted Manor Packaging’s strong reputation, operational capabilities, and customer-focused approach. He expressed confidence that the company will continue to grow and contribute to VPK’s long-term expansion strategy.

The transaction also marks a leadership transition at Fencor Packaging Group. David Orr, who has led the company for more than two decades, is retiring from his role. Tony Clifton, formerly Sales Director, will assume leadership responsibilities moving forward.

The acquisition reflects the ongoing consolidation trend within the packaging industry as companies seek to expand their market reach, strengthen supply chains, and enhance sustainable packaging capabilities.
