Domino India Launches Cx150i UV for High-Resolution Coding on Non-Porous Packaging
New Delhi, August 7, 2026: Domino India has launched the Cx150i UV, a high-resolution piezo inkjet printer designed for direct-to-box coding on semi-porous and non-porous packaging materials.
The new system targets packaging applications including laminated cartons, coated monocartons, blister foil and other secondary packaging formats used in pharmaceutical, food, beverage, FMCG, cosmetics and personal care industries.
The Cx150i UV combines piezo inkjet technology with LED UV curing to deliver durable, high-contrast codes on challenging packaging surfaces. It can print text, logos, graphics, QR codes, GS1-compliant 1D and 2D barcodes, batch information and serialized data.
The printer supports resolutions of up to 600 dpi and uses low-VOC UV-curable inks that are instantly cured using LED lamps. Domino said this helps eliminate drying delays while maintaining code adhesion and readability on non-porous substrates.
According to the company, the system can operate at speeds of up to 250 m/min, making it suitable for high-volume production environments. Its quick-change ink cartridge system allows ink replacement without interrupting production, while the 500 ml ink supply supports extended production runs.
“The increasing use of laminated and coated packaging materials has created new challenges for manufacturers seeking consistent, durable, high-quality coding solutions,” said Sachin Mall, Assistant Vice President – Products, Applications & Solutions, Domino Printech India.
He added that the Cx150i UV is designed to provide high-resolution coding while supporting high equipment availability and improved OEE.
The printer is also designed for connected manufacturing environments. It is Industry 4.0-ready and can integrate with MES and ERP systems through Domino Automation. Cloud-connected capabilities support production monitoring, diagnostics, analytics and OEE reporting.
The Cx150i UV can also integrate with Domino’s R-Series vision inspection systems for automated verification of code presence, placement and readability.
Tanuj Agrawal, Managing Director, Domino Printech India, said the evolution of packaging formats and increasing traceability requirements are driving demand for more advanced coding technologies.
“The launch of the Cx150i UV reflects our continued focus on providing future-ready coding solutions for modern packaging environments,” Agrawal said.
The system also incorporates sustainability-oriented features, including a low-waste ink pouch system, energy-efficient LED UV curing and direct-to-box printing, which can reduce the need for separate adhesive labels in suitable applications.
With its combination of high-resolution printing, UV curing, automated inspection and digital connectivity, the Cx150i UV is positioned for packaging manufacturers seeking reliable coding on coated and non-porous substrates.
