OMG Bubble Tea Adopts Greiner Packaging’s Separable K3 Cup

OMG Bubble Tea has adopted Greiner Packaging’s K3 cup, featuring a separable cardboard sleeve and tear tab, for its ready-to-drink bubble tea beverages sold across retail markets.

The packaging solution was developed to fit OMG Bubble Tea’s existing packaging and production concept while maintaining the brand’s intended consumer experience.

Greiner Packaging said the project highlights the flexibility of its K3 cup platform, which can be adapted to meet the specific requirements of different products and production processes.

“Together with OMG Bubble Tea, we adapted our K3 cup to their specific requirements and supported a smooth integration into their established setup,” said Eliška Bednaříková, Sales Manager at Greiner Packaging.

The cup is made from polypropylene (PP) and EVOH, providing the barrier properties required to protect the beverage throughout its shelf life. A newly introduced Tear Tab enables consumers to easily remove the cardboard sleeve from the plastic cup after use.

The packaging is also designed with a premium appearance and feel to help OMG Bubble Tea differentiate its products on retail shelves.

The partners said the solution is intended to support the brand’s playful beverage positioning while expanding its retail presence and enabling growth across international markets.

OMG Bubble Tea’s 250 ml ready-to-drink bubble tea products have been available across Europe and the United States since summer 2025.

The K3 packaging format has previously been used for products including dairy foods, desserts and instant porridge. Retailers such as Greggs, Asda, Lidl, M&S, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons have used Greiner’s self-separating K3 r100 format for own-brand porridge products.

Unlike the OMG Bubble Tea format, the K3 r100 solution is designed so that its plastic and cardboard components separate during waste disposal without requiring consumers to manually split the pack.

Greiner Packaging continues to develop and customise its K3 platform for different product categories, with a focus on combining packaging performance, consumer convenience and improved material separation.
