Detpak expands North American presence with new manufacturing facility in South Carolina
Global packaging supplier Detpak has opened a new manufacturing facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, expanding its production footprint in the United States and strengthening its ability to supply locally manufactured paper-based packaging to major Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) customers.
The new facility represents a key milestone in Detpak’s global growth strategy and reinforces its long-term commitment to the North American market. By combining its international packaging expertise with local manufacturing capabilities, the company aims to improve supply chain reliability, shorten lead times and provide greater operational flexibility for customers across the US.
Detpak supplies packaging solutions to some of the world’s leading QSR, foodservice, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and retail brands, including McDonald’s, KFC, Starbucks and Wendy’s. The company operates in 45 countries and has manufacturing facilities across eight countries.
According to CEO Sascha Detmold Cox, establishing a manufacturing base in the United States is an important step in the company’s global expansion plans.
She said the new facility will enable Detpak to better serve customers with locally produced packaging while strengthening relationships in a market the company has supplied from its international manufacturing network for more than two decades. She added that the investment reflects Detpak’s commitment to delivering consistent service, innovation and reliable supply to its North American customers.
The company also highlighted the project’s economic impact, noting that the investment will create new employment opportunities in the Spartanburg community.
The multi-million-dollar facility spans 16,300 square metres and will initially employ more than 50 local workers. The site is currently undergoing equipment commissioning, with full-scale production scheduled to begin in August.
