Acquisition strengthens International Paper’s East Coast presence and expands its sustainable packaging production capacity.

International Paper has acquired Delmarva Corrugated Packaging (DCP), a converting facility located in Dover, Delaware, as part of its strategy to expand packaging operations and strengthen its market presence across the East Coast region. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition is expected to enhance International Paper’s production capabilities and increase its capacity to supply corrugated and sustainable packaging solutions to customers in the region. The Dover facility’s strategic location and established customer base are expected to improve service efficiency and support future growth opportunities.

According to the company, the move aligns with its long-term growth strategy focused on expanding high-value packaging operations and strengthening customer support across key markets. International Paper stated that the facility will help improve delivery speed, operational flexibility and packaging supply capabilities.

Delmarva Corrugated Packaging President and CEO Dennis D. Mehiel welcomed the acquisition, stating that International Paper is well positioned to support the future development of the Dover operation and its workforce.

The acquisition comes as International Paper continues to focus on expanding its sustainable packaging business while strengthening its North American operations amid evolving market demand in the corrugated packaging sector.
