The most cost effective space saving carton erector for creation of trays for the fresh fruit & vegetable sector.
The latest innovation from Erkrath, Germany-based Heiber + Schröder is the CE Compact, a single lane carton erector, designed and built to deliver precision and reliability on an extremely compact footprint.
With the demand for a cost effective, easy to run machine capable of making trays in small lot sizes, Heiber + Schröder have developed a machine that is based on its popular CE range of cartonboard and microflute tray erectors – but what makes this machine different is that apart from the standard gluing process in this new application, it folds trays that need no gluing.
Of course, not having a glue station keeps the costs down, not just for the initial outlay, but also the ongoing operating costs. It also means machine uptime is increased, as there is no need to clean or maintain glue stations which significantly eases the operation. The physical footprint of the machine is really compact – thus its name!
Compact, single line and easy to use; the CE Compact is an ideal machine for packer fillers and larger fruit and produce farms, as well as carton converters who are looking to move into this market that maybe don’t have space in their facility for the larger CE machines. And priced comfortably under €100,000, its sure to be of interest to the market.
“The new CE Compact is the result of feedback and discussions with many customers who are looking for a machine that can erect basic trays without glue to be able to offer even more sustainable and fully compostable/recyclable packaging,” explains Jan Michaelis, CEO, Heiber + Schröder. “The CE Compact delivers just that – trays that are folded and secured through intricate folding process, without the need for glue. And of course, it is 100% Made in Germany.”
The CE Compact will be officially launched at the Fruit Logistica event in Berlin, 4th to 6th February, 2026. Heiber + Schröder will be exhibiting the new machine in Hall 6.1, Stand B-32.
