This strategic acquisition strengthens VPK Group’s geographical footprint in one of Europe’s largest packaging markets. Open Imballaggi’s location complements VPK’s existing activities with Zetacarton and IEMME, supporting further market growth in the important industrial region around Bergamo.
Over the decades, the company has developed and expanded, with Guido Marsetti founding Open Imballaggi SpA in 1988. Today, the company operates from a modern 22,000 m² facility in Calcinate, which has recently been expanded with 7 million euros in investment, including a new 6-color rotary die cutter.
With an annual turnover of 30 million euros and a production capacity of 40 million m² of boxes, Open Imballaggi serves 700 customers across multiple industries, including food and beverage, cosmetics, e-commerce and automotive. The company employs approximately 70 people. In addition to the strategic alignment, this acquisition brings together two companies that share strong family values and a long-term vision.
VPK will continue Open Imballaggi’s family-driven culture and commitment to customer relationships, with a focus on entrepreneurship, sustainability and ongoing investment in people and innovation. With this expansion, VPK Group continues to build on its long-term strategy of sustainable growth with its vertically integrated business model in the paper and board packaging industry.
