TRICOR Packaging & Logistics AG commissioned a BHS factory-integrated Corrucleaner HE-90, a sustainable dust extraction system designed to support clean, efficient corrugated board production.

Tricor recently received the EcoVadis Gold Medal, an award for companies that rank among the top 5% of their sector in terms of sustainability. The medal recognises their commitment to the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and responsible sourcing. In Tricor’s words, ‘This award makes us proud and is also an incentive to further strengthen our commitment to sustainable production and environmental and social standards.’

The choice of energy-efficient, emission-reducing equipment for their newest facility is a logical decision in Tricor’s sustainable policy. The very latest 2.8-metre-wide BHS Corrugator, with a capacity of 140,000 tone’s per year and a production speed of 450 m/min, is therefore equipped as standard with a factory-integrated Corrucleaner HE-90 in the slitter/scorer section. This investment fits with Tricor’s future-proof plant design: fully prepared for future market demand, technical requirements and environmental and sustainability goals.

How does the Corrucleaner fit within sustainable, future-proof operations?

The Corrucleaner – offered by BHS as a standard feature with new corrugators – removes dust and microparticles directly at the source. This provides benefits for production, work safety and quality alike:

  • Less wear and tear on equipment due to direct extraction of fibres and particles
  • Fewer maintenance and cleaning stops, lower workload for operators
  • Cleaner and healthier working environment thanks to reduction of airborne dust and microparticles
  • Higher print quality due to cleaner board surface without contamination
  • Fewer restarts and increased process reliability
  • Up to 20% lower energy consumption than conventional cleaning systems
  • Up to 10 dB quieter, contributing to a safe working environment

The filter/fan unit features a large filter area, automatic ‘reverse-jet’ cleaning and comprehensive control. Together with the operator panel on the cleaning module in the BHS, this ensures fully automated operation of the Corrucleaner® surface cleaning system. Thanks to the seamless integration into the control system of the BHS, all functions perform with high precision.

Meanwhile, production is in full swing at the new Tricor facility. In addition to heavy corrugated board and large packaging for the chemical, food and automotive industries, the strategically located plant also produces the highly durable, fully robotic Tricor Quickbin and Quickbox packaging solutions.
