Supremex Announces $4 Million Investment Across Three U.S. Plants

Supremex is investing approximately $4 million across three U.S. facilities to expand and modernize its folding carton and e-commerce packaging operations, strengthening production capacity and improving responsiveness to growing customer demand.

The investments will support equipment upgrades and additional capacity at facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; and Naperville, Illinois. At the Indianapolis packaging facility, Supremex is adding a six-color offset press with in-line UV coating capabilities, along with advanced converting and finishing equipment. The new equipment will broaden the range of packaging grades, formats and finishes that can be produced in-house while increasing folding carton and e-commerce packaging capacity.

The Indianapolis investment is also expected to reduce Supremex’s reliance on external subcontractors, allowing the company to strengthen quality control, shorten lead times and respond more quickly to customer requirements. By bringing additional production capabilities under its own operations, Supremex aims to provide greater flexibility across its packaging portfolio.

At the company’s Chicago, Illinois, envelope facility, Supremex will relocate and upgrade a printing press to enhance production capabilities. Meanwhile, the Naperville, Illinois, facility will receive additional e-commerce packaging capacity designed to support increasing demand while making greater use of the site’s skilled workforce.

“These investments are about giving our customers excellence at every step — excellent equipment, excellent versatility and excellent service,” said Stewart Emerson, President and CEO of Supremex. He added that expanding in-house capabilities will allow the company to broaden its product offering, respond faster to customer needs and maintain quality throughout the production process.

Supremex views packaging as an important growth area for its business and said the investments will position the three facilities to support its expansion over the coming years. The company will fund the approximately $4 million in capital investments through existing cash flows and its existing credit facilities.
