Smurfit Westrock has unveiled a new and more innovative pumpkin pack for Halloween this year.Forbes believes that the UK Halloween market is worth £800 million and with spooky season well underway, pumpkins are front and centre in supermarkets.

The Octalok, which was snapped up by one of the UK’s leading supermarkets, has a self-locking base to eliminate damage. It can also be double-stacked, requiring fewer pallets and fewer truck journeys, therefore reducing transport-related emissions.

In addition to the pumpkin pack, Smurfit Westrock has a number of other stand-out Halloween products like, for example, its in-store displays. One notable example was for SC Johnson’s Glade Spiced Pumpkin Latte air freshener which featured an award-winning pumpkin-shaped display and resulted in a 262% increase in sales during the promotional period.

Halloween also featured on the 8l Bag-in-Box for the Bezoya mineral water brand which rolled out four different Halloween-themed versions to choose from. This water is used by over 230,000 households in Spain.

This Halloween, celebrants are expected to expand their baskets and drive increased purchasing beyond confectionery, costumes and decorations to include more household items such as the seasonal Glade air freshener. Smurfit Westrock’s extensive packaging portfolio can cater for them all.
