Rattpack expands pharmaceutical capabilities in Wolfurt and develops Apolda site
Rattpack is expanding its pharmaceutical competence centre in Wolfurt while also advancing the development of its facility in Apolda to meet the growing demands of the pharmaceutical industry.
To support the sector’s increasing need for flexible and efficient packaging solutions, the company is enlarging its Wolfurt site, where construction is already about two-thirds complete. The upgraded facility will focus on advanced printing technologies capable of producing short and medium production runs in up to seven colours. The centre will also offer specialised finishing services such as hot foil printing and varnish coating, designed to meet the strict quality standards required in pharmaceutical packaging.
At the same time, Rattpack is strengthening its operations in Apolda. During the first quarter of the year, the company acquired an additional site covering around 10,000 square metres. The new space will be used as a logistics centre, expanding storage capacity and improving the flow of goods. This development will ease pressure on the existing production areas while creating room for future manufacturing expansion.
Rattpack positions itself as a comprehensive packaging partner for the pharmaceutical sector, providing solutions across the entire value chain. Its portfolio includes products such as package inserts, folding cartons, labels and point-of-sale desk displays. In addition to pharmaceuticals, the company also serves the food, cosmetics and industrial markets.
Headquartered in Vorarlberg, Austria, Rattpack employs around 600 people across eight locations and generates annual revenues of approximately €150 million. Founded in 1953, the company is currently managed by the third generation of the family, led by Matthias and Stephan Ratt.
