The global packaging industry gathered in unprecedented numbers at Interpack 2026, while organizers announced the launch of Interpack China 2026 in Shanghai this November to strengthen the event’s presence in Asia.
Interpack 2026 has concluded on a high note, reinforcing its position as one of the world’s leading trade fairs for the packaging and processing industries. The event attracted strong international participation from packaging manufacturers, technology providers, brand owners, and industry professionals, showcasing the latest innovations in sustainable packaging, automation, digitalization, and smart manufacturing solutions.
Held in Düsseldorf, Germany, the exhibition served as a global platform for industry stakeholders to explore emerging technologies and discuss key trends shaping the future of packaging. Sustainability remained a major focus area, with exhibitors highlighting recyclable materials, lightweight packaging solutions, circular economy initiatives, and resource-efficient production technologies. Automation, artificial intelligence, and intelligent packaging systems also featured prominently across the exhibition floor.
Building on the success of the event, organizers announced the upcoming launch of Interpack China 2026, which will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from November 16 to 18, 2026. Formerly known as Shanghai World of Packaging (swop), the exhibition has been rebranded as Interpack China to strengthen its connection with the globally recognized Interpack brand and expand its international reach.
Interpack China 2026 is expected to cover more than 70,000 square metres of exhibition space and feature over 970 exhibitors from around the world. Organizers anticipate attracting more than 47,000 professional visitors, making it one of Asia’s most significant events for processing and packaging technologies.
The Shanghai event will showcase innovations across the entire packaging value chain, including processing and packaging machinery, automation systems, sustainable materials, smart packaging technologies, printed labels, packaging design, and innovative packaging products. Key themes will include artificial intelligence, digital transformation, lightweight packaging, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing solutions.
Industry observers believe the expansion of the Interpack brand into China reflects the growing importance of the Asia-Pacific region in the global packaging market. By creating stronger links between international suppliers and regional buyers, Interpack China aims to accelerate innovation, facilitate business partnerships, and support the industry’s transition toward more sustainable and intelligent packaging solutions.
