JBM Packaging Opens New Ohio Facility to Expand Contract Packaging Operations
LEBANON, Ohio, September 1, 2026: JBM Packaging has officially opened a new 52,500-square-foot facility in Lebanon, Ohio, expanding its contract packaging, kitting and filling capabilities while creating capacity for future growth.
Located approximately one mile from JBM’s headquarters, the new facility will support the company’s growing contract packaging operations and is expected to create up to 50 new jobs.
“This new building signals a strong future for JBM,” said Marcus Sheanshang, President and CEO of JBM Packaging. “We’re moving into new markets, expanding the services we offer customers and creating more opportunities for our team members.”
JBM launched its contract packaging business in a rented facility in Queensgate in 2021. Growing demand quickly exceeded the site’s capacity, with limited ceiling height, storage space and the distance between the facility and JBM’s headquarters creating operational challenges.
The new purpose-built facility has been designed to improve production efficiency and material handling. It features 28-foot clear-height ceilings, high-density warehouse racking and an optimized layout for material and finished-product flow.
The expansion is expected to increase JBM’s overall machine capacity by 50 percent, allowing the company to manage a larger portion of customers’ packaging operations—from planning and production through distribution.
Expanded Packaging and Filling Capabilities
The facility enables JBM to provide integrated services across the packaging supply chain. For example, the company can manufacture seed packets, source and store seeds, fill the finished packages, assemble them into retail displays and ship the completed products directly to stores.
The site also features new equipment for commercial filling operations and a 35,000-cubic-foot climate-controlled seed storage room, providing additional capacity to manage seasonal demand.
Its close proximity to JBM’s headquarters is expected to improve the movement of materials, packaging and finished products between the two locations, helping streamline operations.
While seed packaging remains an important application, the expanded facility also positions JBM to serve more consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies seeking paper-based packaging, filling, kitting and related contract services.
The additional space will also allow JBM to make room at its headquarters for new paper-packaging equipment and future production expansion.
Supporting Fair Chance Employment
The new facility will also contribute to JBM’s Fair Chance hiring program, which provides employment opportunities to individuals who face barriers to traditional employment.
Approximately 40 percent of JBM’s current workforce has been hired through the program. According to the company, several Fair Chance employees have progressed into other positions as the business has expanded.
“This facility would not have been possible without our Fair Chance program,” Sheanshang said. “It has been instrumental in our growth.”
The contract packaging operation provides opportunities for employees to enter the workforce, develop new skills and advance within the organization.

JBM Packaging established its headquarters in Lebanon in 1989 and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. The opening of the new facility represents another major investment in the company’s local operations and its long-term growth strategy.
