Dunapack Packaging is pleased to announce the start of a groundbreaking automation project at the Strasswalchen site. The company is investing 11.5 million euros in a modern high-bay warehouse for semi-finished goods.

Together with representatives of the market town of Strasswalchen, the management of the Packaging Division and the executing companies, the groundbreaking ceremony was held in Strasswalchen on 14 March 2025. DI Horst Santner, Managing Director of Dunapack Packaging Strasswalchen, explains the key data of the project: “In the future, the interim storage facility will be operated fully automatically.

It covers an area of 55 x 20 meters and extends over 9 levels. State-of-the-art storage and retrieval machines and intelligent operating software guarantee energy-saving operation and fast storage and retrieval processes. Particular attention was paid to modern fire protection and occupational safety in the selection of materials.” Commissioning is planned for 2026.

Mayor Tanja Kreer is impressed: “This investment demonstrates the company’s commitment to technological advances and sustainable development. It is an important step for the future of our municipality.” “The project supports our claim to provide our customers with individual packaging solutions of the highest quality and even more flexibility.

It represents a significant step towards energy efficiency and decarbonization and is in line with our commitment to the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). It underlines our commitment to sustainable development and technological progress,” explains Alexander Enzenberg, Managing Director Dunapack-Packaging.
