JBM Expands Flexo Prepress Capabilities with Miraclon Flexcel NX Wide at New Jammu Facility
JBM, a prepress trade shop based in Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, has strengthened its flexographic platemaking capabilities by installing a Miraclon Flexcel NX Wide 4260 System at its newly established production facility in Jammu. The investment positions the company to better serve the growing label and flexible packaging sector across Northern India.
With over two decades of experience, JBM has steadily expanded its operations through phased investments in prepress technologies, beginning with filmsetting and offset computer-to-plate systems before moving into flexographic plate production. The Jammu installation represents the company’s first major investment in a brand-new prepress system, marking an important step in its long-term growth strategy.
The new production site has been strategically located to support the increasing concentration of label printers and flexible packaging converters in Jammu & Kashmir and neighbouring northern states. The region has witnessed rising industrial activity, including the establishment of new manufacturing facilities for consumer goods, food products and packaging, creating greater demand for high-quality flexographic prepress services.
According to Mukesh Choudhary, Founder of JBM, the regional flexographic printing market is experiencing strong momentum, supported by industrial development initiatives. He noted that being the first trade shop in the Jammu region to install a Flexcel NX system enables JBM to offer local printers access to premium-quality flexographic plates designed to improve print consistency, reduce press interruptions and enhance overall production efficiency.
Choudhary added that customer feedback played an important role in the company’s investment decision. Printers using Flexcel NX technology reported improved colour consistency, predictable print performance and fewer production issues, making it a logical choice as JBM continues to expand its flexographic business.
Beyond Jammu & Kashmir, the company also plans to supply plates produced at the new facility to customers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Chandigarh, further extending its reach across Northern India.
JBM also acknowledged the technical support provided by Miraclon during the installation, commissioning and training process, stating that the collaboration has helped its team maximise the capabilities of the new system and strengthen its expertise in flexographic plate production.
Looking ahead, JBM sees continued opportunities in the flexographic printing sector and intends to leverage the new technology to support customers with improved on-press performance while building a stronger foundation for future business growth.
