MULTIVAC Launches Compact Slicing Line with Smart Yield Monitoring
Germany-based packaging and processing technology company MULTIVAC has introduced a new compact slicing line designed to improve production efficiency while reducing factory floor space. The latest solution combines high throughput, advanced yield monitoring, and hygienic design, making it suitable for a wide range of food packaging applications.
According to MULTIVAC, the new slicing line requires around 28% less floor space than comparable systems while maintaining high production performance. The integrated line also features comprehensive yield monitoring across every stage of the process—from the slicer’s loading conveyor to the final packaged product—allowing manufacturers to track production performance with greater accuracy.
The company has incorporated its Hygienic Design philosophy throughout the entire line, including the newly developed handling module and product buffer. The open-frame construction enables easier cleaning and faster changeovers, while the quick-change gripper simplifies product switching between applications such as cooked ham, raw ham, and hard cheese.
The complete system includes an Advanced Series slicer, a new loading conveyor with an integrated weigher, a hygienic rocker for quick cleaning and format changes, a product buffer, and a redesigned handling module featuring a precision pick-up conveyor for improved product handling.
A key innovation is the enhanced line yield monitoring system, which continuously captures product quantities and production volumes at four critical points throughout the packaging process. This enables manufacturers to identify production losses accurately, pinpoint inefficiencies, and implement targeted improvements to maximize productivity.
