North American packaging distributor SupplyOne has acquired Compass Packaging Solutions, a Massachusetts-based provider of protective packaging, warehousing, and fulfillment services.
The acquisition is part of SupplyOne’s ongoing expansion strategy and is expected to strengthen its position in the New England market while enhancing its capabilities in protective packaging solutions.
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in North Billerica, Massachusetts, Compass Packaging Solutions specializes in custom protective packaging as well as warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and kitting services. The company serves customers across several high-growth industries, including life sciences, semiconductors, technology, and defense. Following the acquisition, Compass will continue to operate under the leadership of its founder and owner, Rick Meissner.
According to SupplyOne President and CEO Todd Renehan, the acquisition aligns with the company’s strategic focus on expanding its protective packaging portfolio and strengthening its presence in the northeastern United States. The company noted that Compass’s customer-centric approach and expertise in engineered packaging solutions complement SupplyOne’s existing business model.
The transaction marks SupplyOne’s 48th acquisition since the company was founded in 1998 and its third major acquisition involving a significant protective packaging business in the last three years. The deal is expected to broaden SupplyOne’s geographic reach and further expand its value-added packaging services across North America.
For Compass Packaging Solutions, joining SupplyOne will provide access to a larger network, expanded resources, and additional operational capabilities. The combined organization aims to offer customers a more comprehensive range of packaging products and supply chain services while maintaining the customer-focused approach that both companies emphasize.
Industry observers note that the acquisition reflects the ongoing consolidation trend within the packaging sector, where companies are increasingly expanding beyond traditional packaging distribution into areas such as logistics, fulfillment, inventory management, and engineered packaging solutions.
