The investment will elevate the quality of the flagship folding boxboard grade Mets\u00e4Board Classic FBB and accelerate the mill\u2019s transition toward fossil-free production.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The renewed <span style=\"color: #545454;\"><a style=\"color: #545454;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.metsagroup.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mets\u00e4Board<\/a><\/span> Classic FBB will feature curtain coating technology, resulting in an improved print surface and enhanced visual quality. This innovation enables more consistent print results and sharper details, especially in demanding packaging applications.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently, 89% of the energy used in production at the Simpele mill is fossil-free. With the implementation of new technologies, this figure is expected to rise to 98% by the end of 2025, marking a significant milestone in Mets\u00e4 Board\u2019s journey toward fossil-free production and supporting customers\u2019 increasingly ambitious sustainability goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The investment shutdown will last approximately five weeks and includes key installations such as a complete modernisation of the coating section, expansion of the coating kitchen, and commissioning of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corrugman.com\/metsa-board-starts-installation-phase-of-board-machine-modernisation-at-simpele-mill-metsaboard-classic-fbb-renewed-to-meet-growing-quality-and-sustainability-demands\/\">new pallet packaging<\/a> line. \u201cPreparations have progressed excellently throughout the summer.
